Although a primary reason for the existence of ACCESS is to facilitate familial access to hospitalized loved ones, sometimes it is not possible to coordinate the schedule(s) of both clients and ACCESS volunteer drivers. The Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) of Santa Clara County provides an extensive network of both light rail and bus routes. Several bus routes stop directly in front of Good Samaritan Hospital and can provide an alternative transportation option when client/volunteer schedules cannot be synchronized.
The bus routes directly serving Good Samaritan Hospital are:
Route 49: Runs North/South with one terminal at the Los Gatos Civic Center and the other terminal at the Winchester (Campbell) Transit Center (Light Rail)
Route 61: Runs North/South between Good Samaritan Hospital and Sierra & Piedmont via Bascom Avenue
Route 62: Runs North/South between Good Samaritan Hospital to Sierra & Piedmont via Union Avenue
Route 27: Runs East/West between Good Samaritan Hospital and the Kaiser hospital in South San Jose
Connection and transfers from other routes may be researched at VTA's website.
