    Sylvia Cibart is 75 years young, with a heart of gold and a smile that lights up a room.  She and Ronald, her husband of 52 years, live in Redding, California, where they raised their four children. Sylvia has a history of heart complications, and following a visit with her cardiologist in Redding, he suggested she have surgery to repair a valve regurgitation and recommended she have the procedure done at Good Samaritan HospitalSylvia always puts others before herself and while she felt confident about the plan her doctors had for her, she was worried about Ronald and the impact it would have on him.  Where would he stay, what would he eat and who would take care of him?  Read more...
  • Marissa Gonzalez, Victor Pena and their son, Elijah's Story

    Marissa Gonzalez was admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital due to complications she was experiencing with her pregnancy. Elijah Gonzalez was born to the proud parents of Marisa and Victor on February 27, 2016 weighing just 3 pounds, 15 ounces. Although they expected their baby to be born a little early, they did not expect him to be born as early as thirty weeks. Elijah was admitted to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) and at the time of this interview, he had been in the NICU for three weeks....Read more...

  • Sandra and Anthony's Story
    Sandra and Anthony’s daughter, Aria, was born weighing 4lbs 7oz, in respiratory distress and was rushed to the NICU (Neo-natal intensive care unit) at Good Samaritan Hospital more than 3 hours away from their home.  Their family needed support and thanks to you, ACCESS was there!
